FAQs

    • The Peer Collective is a facilitated personal and professional development group for financial services professionals. You apply, we arrange a short call and then you join if we are a good fit.

    • Once accepted, we place you in a group of up to 6 peers. You will meet with your peer group once a month for 90 minutes at a fixed time agreed collectively.

    • Everyone in your group will have a similar commitment to personal and professional development - to offering support and challenge, to leaving egos at the door and to be being honest, open hearted and open minded in the group.

    • Your peer group will be led by Emma, a qualified group facilitator, psychotherapist and coach. We know you are busy, so we need to ensure you get the most out of the 90 minute sessions. Emma ensures the group’s discussions are relevant and growthful, helping groups and individuals to go deeper into the themes and issues being discussed and gain fresh insights.

  • You must be a financial services professional and be willing to make the following commitments to your Collective Peer Group:

    • Commit to attend every month for 12 months

    • Commit to being honest and open in group sessions and to leave your ego at the door

    • Keeping everything discussed ion your peer group confidential

  • Once accepted you’ll be placed in a group of up to 6 peers.

You will meet with your group once a month in a 90 minute facilitated virtual session.

Each session will follow the same simple structure to provide consistency, and will include:

    • A short check-in from everyone

    • Peer members each share the 'one thing' that feels most important to them right now.

    • The group will collectively choose two of those themes to explore together

    • We'll close with a reflection and check-out.

Monthly peer group meetings are mandatory

  • During our initial call, you’ll have an opportunity to share what you are hoping to get out of your Collective Peer Group experience and if you have any preferences of who you are grouped with eg leadership focussed groups, women’s only groups etc

Peer Groups will be carefully curated, informed by these discussions.

  • Collective Peer Group Members bring a wide range of topics. Past discussions have included:

    • Work/Life balance

    • Handling ‘difficult’ clients

    • Imposter syndrome

    • Purpose and values

    • Particular client scenarios

    • Career choices

    • Team/Firm politics

    • Time management

    • Professional development needs

    • Milestones and targets

    All sessions are strictly confidential.

  • Let us know and we’ll place you in a new peer group.

  • We ask members to join for a minimum of 12 months.

We expect full attendance as a mark of the commitment you are making to yourself and the group. It takes time to build a shared comfort, understanding and trust - coming and going can disrupt this.

  • The cost is £75 per month, payable annually (£900).

Most members don’t pay for the membership themselves, their companies do. Peer Collective membership is just as valuable to your company as it is to your career and your personal and professional development. If you’d like to set up a conversation with your manager or HR department, just let us know and we’d be happy to have a chat.

  • Monthly peer group meetings are all virtual.

We are hoping to host some in person meetings also - watch this space - and let us know if this is something you’d be interested in.

  • The Collective is open to all financial professionals, whatever your role, experience, or background.

  • Yes. Nothing that gets discussed in your Collective Peer Group gets shared with anyone else. We have a confidentiality agreement that every member signs. If someone breaks that commitments, they will be banned from the Peer Collective and will not receive a refund.

  • Currently, Emma Boardwell (Founder of Emotional Finance) is the sole facilitator. She is a qualified psychotherapist, DipFA qualified financial coach, a relational dynamics coach and a facilitator and trainer.
